Roller works fine as a cheaper replacement to the original. It is a bit more difficult to take apart to clean. Instead of the wheel just popping out of the housing you have to use a phillips screwdriver and be careful when removing the shaft because there are metal spacers on each side of the wheel. This also made it more time consuming when putting it all back together. With pets the roller quickly gets covered in hair and needs to be cleaned. Otherwise I can't say that I have seen any issues with it.
